Project Scope

Graycor Industrial managed a rehabilitation of the Allegan Dam’s hydroelectric spillway for Consumers Energy which enabled continued control of the Allegan Lake and Kalamazoo River water levels.

The six-month project involved reconstruction of spillway piers, abutments and an operator’s bridge, as well as replacement of tainter gates, handrails and walking hoists. The plant remained in operation throughout the rehabilitation, which is part of Consumers Energy’s ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship of its generating facilities.
