Project Scope

Graycor completed the construction of a  27,767-square-foot Crate and Barrel Homestore in Skokie, Illinois. The two-story retail store, located in Westfield’s Old Orchard Town Center, was designed to relocate a previously operational smaller store within the mall.

The project consisted of retrofitting the two-story retail store in an existing single-story shell. The scope included demolition of existing façade, underpinning foundations and adding new foundations including helical piers, addition of a post-tensioned second floor slab, roof joist reinforcement/modifications, construction of new façade, interior build-out, landscape, irrigation and hardscapes.

The exterior façade included cedar, panelized brick system, corrugated and composite metal panels and EIFS. Some of the exterior finishes were seamlessly carried over to the interiors to blend with pine and Windsor boards, zinc panels, ceramic tile, integrally colored concrete and maple flooring.
