Project Scope

Graycor was the general contractor for the renovation of the Fox Valley Center. The project included renovation of the food court, installation of new elevators and flooring, modernization of ceilings and railings and refurbishing of the mall’s entrances. Graycor’s construction crews completed the project on time by working day and night shifts.

The 11-month project included demolition and renovation of the existing mall common areas on both levels; alteration of the mall’s four main entrances; addition of a new feature elevator, two new escalators and new public restrooms; and modifications to the stairs, ramps and bridges, as well as the HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and electrical systems.

Graycor worked with Wet Design on this complicated water feature was constructed in center court over an existing restroom. Careful coordination was required to ensure stainless steel trough and fountain piping fit with a 16” cavity above the restroom. This feature includes eight-(8) water laminator devices that project carefully choreographed water streams.

Since construction, the mall has been purchased by Westfield and is now known as Westfield Fox Valley.
