Project Scope

Graycor Industrial completed high line trestle work at USX Corporation in Gary, Indiana. The high line is comprised of four sets of railroad tracks that distribute raw materials, such as coke and ore, to four blast furnaces in the mill. The track is approximately one mile long with one main track line that switches at either end.

Graycor has been involved with approximately $50 million in maintenance and rebuilding of this high line in the plant since 1989. Work has included replacement and/or repair of columns, girders, stringers, rails, hoppers, bins, skip inclines, decking and concrete foundations.
