Project Scope

Graycor Construction Company Inc. completed an expansion and renovation of the Electrical Division Headquarters for Panduit, a world-class developer and provider of leading-edge solutions that help customers optimize their physical infrastructure, located in Lockport, Illinois.

At Panduit’s Electrical Headquarters, approximately 7,000 SF of existing office space and 10,000 SF of manufacturing space were converted into a newly renovated 17,000 SF office with a new feature entrance.

The new entrance includes redwood siding and composite anodized aluminum finishes. The front of the building was also completely renovated with new Curtain wall and storefront and metal finishes. The roof was replaced and all mechanical and electrical systems were replaced. In addition, Graycor installed three state of the art video tele-conferencing rooms complete with LCD monitors and graphic eyes for lighting control.

The space was updated with energy efficient solutions such as additional insulation at the entire roof, Low E Glazing at the storefront and Curtain wall, daylight harvesting and occupancy sensors by Lutron along with the addition of several sun tunnels and sky lights to allow natural daylight into the space. Other improvements included a new HVAC system with full digital Controls and energy effi cient light fi xtures.

Phasing challenges included working in areas adjacent to occupied space and replacing the roof over operating offices. Graycor also assisted with the planning and coordination of the owner supplied furniture and workstation delivery and installation. The result is an updated facility built to support Panduit’s innovative business platform and growth.
