Project Scope
Toyota selected Graycor to perform a 150,000-square-foot expansion – named the ‘TMMWV 587F ZR Expansion’ project – at the automaker’s Buffalo, West Virginia powertrain operations plant. The project consisted of building shell and utilities for a process connection including complete site package, fire protection, compressed air, chilled water, sanitary, domestic water, complete HVAC, overhead doors and docks, and a new electrical substation and power distribution.
The expanded engine plant, at 1.2 million square feet on 230 acres, manufactures powertrains for six different Toyota models and supplies all four of Toyota’s existing North American vehicle plants. The expansion increased Toyota’s capacity to build gears for automatic transmissions.
